ABOUT PIÃO
I have spent a lot of time reflecting on what this brand means to me. I'm a Brazilian, Bahian from Salvador, who was lucky enough to start training in the art of Capoeira at the age of just 4 years old in my neighborhood of Boca do Rio, thanks to my father Antonio Augusto and my Mestre, Jelon Vieira. Capoeira brought me all over the world, and to my new home here in Brooklyn, New York.
It's been more than 30 years since I began training, and Capoeira continues to be as fundamental to my life as breathing. It brings me so much joy to represent this art form, which embodies so much of the culture and diversity of my home. It's from the spirit of Capoeira that I created this brand, Na Rasteira.
Our brand aims to not only proudly represent Capoeira, but to promote Brazilian culture and inspire dreams.
Na Rasteira is intended to embody the struggle, resistance and resilience of Capoeiristas, and the values we proudly carry. We want each piece of clothing to tell a story and inspire people to overcome challenges, just as Capoeira does.
I would like to express my immense gratitude to everyone who has helped to evolve Na Rasteira.
